 2019-05-058609

On April 24, 2019, ABL, in partnership with the Shanghai Administration of Sports, had its project titled "Research on the Construction and Implementation of the Sports Market 'Blacklist' System" selected as a "Key Project" under the 2019 Decision-Making Consultation Research Program by the General Administration of Sport of China. This recognition highlights ABL’s contributions to advancing integrity and governance within China’s sports industry.

A Nationally Recognized Initiative

The General Administration of Sport of China designated 72 projects under its 2019 research program, including 12 major projects, 31 key projects, and 29 general projects. Among these, ABL’s research was selected as one of the key projects, demonstrating its strategic importance to sports reform and development at the national level.

This project explores the construction and implementation of a "blacklist" system for the sports market, aimed at fostering integrity and ensuring sustainable development. It reflects a broader commitment to creating a robust regulatory framework for China’s evolving sports industry.

A Collaborative and Expert-Driven Approach

The research team, led by ABL senior partners Jianjun ZHENG and Fang YE, alongside senior attorney Qingjian XUE and the Legal Affairs Office of the Shanghai Administration of Sports, conducted in-depth investigations into critical areas of sports reform. Their work provided legal, regulatory, and practical recommendations to the General Administration of Sport, focusing on enhancing the integrity system across the sports industry nationwide.

The team’s research aligns with broader national efforts to promote accountability, transparency, and governance in the sports sector, contributing valuable insights to policymakers and industry stakeholders.

Building on a Strong Foundation

This achievement builds upon a formal cooperation agreement between ABL and the Shanghai Municipal Sports Bureau’s Legal Affairs Office to conduct research on the "Sports Market Blacklist Management Measures." The foundational work from this collaboration gained recognition from the General Administration of Sport and paved the way for the project’s selection as a key initiative.

Driving Sustainable Development in Sports

By focusing on the development of a "blacklist" system, the project aims to support the establishment of a national sports integrity framework, helping the industry navigate challenges and uphold ethical standards. This initiative is a significant step toward promoting the sustainable growth of China’s sports market.

ABL is proud to have contributed to this nationally recognized project and remains committed to supporting the development of innovative legal frameworks that drive reform and accountability in key industries. This recognition underscores ABL’s role as a trusted partner in advancing strategic, high-impact initiatives.
